Rishikesh's oldest temple, its dome capped by a single 125-tonne block of rock, was rebuilt after a 1398 invasion.

Named for the legend that Lakshmana crossed the Ganges here on jute ropes. A son helped fund the bridge in memory of his father, with a promise that no toll would ever be charged.
