An iron suspension footbridge across the Ganges near Rishikesh, built in 1927-1929, named for the legend that Lakshmana crossed the river here on jute ropes.
Did you know? Commemorative plaques at the bridge's foot record it was funded partly by Rai Bahadur Shewpershad Tulshan in memory of his father, with a promise that no toll would ever be charged to cross it.
