An 80-foot Buddha in sandstone and red granite, consecrated by the Dalai Lama in 1989.
An 80-foot (about 25 metre) statue of Gautama Buddha in meditation, made of sandstone and red granite and one of the largest in India. Consecrated on 18 November 1989 by the 14th Dalai Lama, it is a prominent landmark and pilgrimage site.

Painted in colour and built in Bhutanese style, it is a gathering place for Bhutanese Buddhist pilgrims.
The tree here is a sapling of a sapling, its line traced through Sri Lanka back to the original beneath which the Buddha sat.
Here the Buddha attained enlightenment. The Bodhi tree beside the temple descends from a cutting sent to Sri Lanka by Ashoka's daughter.
