About
A serial UNESCO listing of three living Chola-era temples, the Brihadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur (1010 CE), the Brihadeeswarar Temple at Gangaikondacholapuram (1035 CE), and the Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram (12th century), that together represent the pinnacle of Chola temple architecture, engineering and bronze-casting artistry across two centuries.
Did you know? All three temples remain active places of worship today, with daily rituals continuing largely unbroken since they were first consecrated nearly a thousand years ago.
