Leh Palace
Nine storeys of Tibetan-style architecture, partly in ruins, above Leh and its views over the Ladakh landscape.
Shanti Stupa
Japanese Buddhists and local Ladakhis built it together in 1991 to mark 2,500 years of Buddhism, and it looks out over Leh.
Thiksey Monastery
Twelve storeys climb a hillside, with a 40-foot Buddha inside, and about 100 monks live here.
