A vibrant floral embroidery tradition literally meaning "flower work," historically embroidered by Punjabi women on the reverse side of khaddar cloth using darn stitch, traditionally made as part of a bride's trousseau.
Did you know? Phulkari was traditionally never sold, it was embroidered exclusively by mothers and grandmothers for their daughters' weddings, meaning many of the oldest surviving pieces carry deep personal, rather than commercial, history.
