A traditional scroll-painting style depicting the folk deities Pabuji and Devnarayan, historically used as portable travelling shrines by Bhopa priest-singers who would unfurl the phad at night and narrate the deity's story through song.
Did you know? A Phad scroll was traditionally treated as sacred the moment the deity's eyes were painted on, until that final step, the cloth was considered ordinary fabric, but once complete, it functioned as an actual mobile temple for worship.
